Service Description

A weekend workshop split into two days, for students who want get a head start on wheel throwing before beginning a course or have a thorough taster experience Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 18 year experienced teacher. You will learn to improve your throwing and trimming techniques as well as experiment with slips, underglazes, sgraffito and inlay on your second weekend day. I love to work with different colour media and surface design. I encourage my students to do the same and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work. I have been throwing for 30 years and learned many skills along the way that I will share with you to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 1/2 bag of clay is provided per student (purchase more via the website) 1. Tuition and demos bowls and then one on cups/vases - Saturday (15 minute break in between demos at around 2pm for tea and snacks) 2. Tuition and demos on trimming and decorating slips and stamps)- Sunday (15 minute break in between demos at around 2pm for tea and snacks) 4 pieces glazed and fired for you to pick up at a later date Any extra - £12 for 2 if size is 6x6 inches. Any larger is £10 for one Extra clay can be purchased separately on this website 1/2 bag of clay - £6 Full bag - £12 IN THE INTEREST OF COVID SAFETY, PLEASE BRING: Something to eat during the break. Tea and coffee are provided An apron, rubber glove, small towel or cloth, large sponge and a regular sized bucket as well as a large yoghurt tub I am really looking forward to teaching you all some new skills and would love you join me in this new, Covid conscious studio. *Mask wearing is mandatory in classes with vulnerable people and encouraged in others unless you are exempt* * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 3% transaction fee charged by Wix. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment provided that the course fees have been paid in full, refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced.*
