Service Description

PLEASE BRING A PHYSICAL COPY OF YOUR VOUCHER ON THE DAY AS PROOF OF PAYMENT - Lessons cannot be honoured without the voucher present Choose between sculpture, hand building or wheel throwing for a 1:1, lesson with an established ceramic artist with university credentials and 18 years of teaching. I know you will come away understanding clay better and with something that you love.. Your private lesson entails 2 hours of Hand Building, Sculpture or Wheel Lessons, 1lb lumps of clay,  as well all tools for throwing or hand building,  lessons. At the end, you will receive two pots maximum per person, trimmed, glazed and fired for you to collect at an agreed date. Any more than 2 pieces is £10 per piece, trimmed and glazed (more are allowed if using your own clay and trimming pots by yourself in studio time or in another 1:1) Please let me know which skill you’d like to concentrate on before you arrive. Should you choose wheel throwing, I will give a quick, informative wheel demonstration and provide you with written instructions as well as babysit your first wheel piece, helicopter around your second and do my best to stand back for your third. That schedule all depends on how things go individually, of course.  Book as many lessons as suit your schedule and vouchers. These lessons are for non-professional people. Please enquire about professional prices Decorating and /or glazing are a lesson in themselves, so remember to book time to learn about glazing, trimming, slips and oxide techniques and to glaze your work. Two of the pieces you make from 1lb balls of clay, will be trimmed, glazed and fired for you. For any others made, it is £10 per piece and anything above 1lb will count as two pieces. IN THE INTEREST OF COVID SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING: an apron and a small towel Rebooking allowed once with 24 hours notice.  Once booked for a lesson, you may reschedule once.  A missed appointment without at least 24 hour notice will result in a forfeit of your voucher and lesson. Any lesson rescheduled, is subject to the price at the time of rebooking and must occur within a month window of the original booking or by the expiration of the Voucher (whichever is longest)..

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule a class or course, please phone or text a week in advance to give me a chance to fill your space and offer it to lower income students. Refunds are only given 14 days prior to the start of your course. See course details for further information. Please check Junk mail for communications and make sure to get in touch about 1:1, 2:1 private lessons about payment and confirmation of lessons if nothing is received a week before your appointment. No payment, no communication from you means no appointment.
