Hand Build & Decor: FRI 5-7:30 - APRIL

Service Description

Come along and enjoy the creativity of A 5 week course and learn how to pinch pot, hand build with moulds and slabs and decorate work with your own art or simple geometric patterned sgraffito, slip inlay or use underglaze transfers (some are available for purchase or bring your own) You will be making approximately 4-6 pieces each for decoration (bowls, plant pots and vases, mugs, coasters etc) Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 18 year experienced teacher. Throwers are welcome, so log as they are competent as the class will be focussed on hand building and decoration. I love to work with different colour media and surface design and expand your knowledge of these. I encourage my students to experiment and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work. I have been throwing for 30 years and learned many skills along the way that I will share with you to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, underglazes, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, pottery user's group (HUG) after 4 courses taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £10 Full bag - £14 - £20 Purchase any clay you think you can work with. Crank and is not easy on the hands and do not hold water ;-) IN THE INTEREST OF COVID SAFETY, PLEASE BRING An apron, large sponge, small towel and pillowsized cloth and a large 1kg yoghurt tub or 2 litre paint bucket I really enjoy teaching ceramics and would love you join me in this new, Covid conscious studio. * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 5% transaction fee charged by Wix. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment provided that the course fees have been paid in full. Refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced.*

To cancel or reschedule a class or course, please phone or text a week in advance to give me a chance to fill your space and offer it to lower income students. Please note that refunds are only given 14 days prior to the start of your course. See course details for further information
