Service Description

A 5 week course for students have already had recent experience in hand building You will be making a minimum of 4 pieces for decoration (bowls, plant pots and vases, mugs, coasters etc) Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 20 year experienced teacher. The class will be focussed on hand building and decoration with a bonus of a raku firing on the last day. Clay will be provided for Raku I love to work with different colour media and surface design and expand your knowledge of these. I encourage my students to experiment and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour pottery class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, underglazes, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, user's group (HUG) after 4 courses taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 5 or 6 week term: 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £10 8 or 10 week term: Full bag - £14 - £20 Purchase any clay- Cream or White clays for a cooler finish and brighter glazes, Grey/buff or Toasted clay for warmer tones IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING An apron, large sponge, small towel , microfibre and pillow-sized cloth as well as a large 1kg yoghurt tub or 2 litre paint bucket and 10 litre bucket for storage of your pottery belonging I really enjoy teaching ceramics and would love you join me in this pottery studio to discover your creativity * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 10% transaction and admin fees. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment provided that the course fees have been paid in full.
