Service Description

A 5 week course for students who want to learn the basics of wheel throwing and those who want to improve skills. Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 18 year experienced teacher. You will learn how to throw on the wheel and/or improve your throwing technique as well as experiment with slips, underglazes and glazes. I love to work with different colour media and surface design. I encourage my students to do the same and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work. I have been throwing for 30 years and learned many skills along the way that I will share with you to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour Throwing class - mask wearing is only mandatory, if there are vulnerable people in class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist in Week throwing and decoration Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, pottery user's group (HUG) after 4 classes taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £10 Full bag - £14 - £20 Purchase any clay but Crank or Raku IN THE INTEREST OF CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING An apron, a large sponge, microfibre, an old cloth, pillow sized cloth for rolling clay, a 2 litre tub and 10 litre bucket I am really looking meeting you and teaching you ceramics in this new pottery studio. * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 5% transaction fee charged by Wix. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment, provided that the course fees have been paid in full. Refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced.*

To cancel or reschedule a class or course, please phone or text a week in advance to give me a chance to fill your space and offer it to lower income students. Please note that refunds are only given 14 days prior to the start of your course. See course details for further information
