Service Description
A 5 week course for students who want to improve their wheel throwing and those who want attempt more complex shapes. Please make s sure you are comfortable with centering and throwing one pound of clay Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice of a university trained and 19 year experienced teacher. You will learn how to improve your throwing technique with weekly challenges and demonstrations, as well as experiment with slips, underglazes and glazes. I love to work with different colour media and surface design. I encourage my students to do the same and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work. I have been throwing for 25 years and learned many skills along the way that I will share with you to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour throwing class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, pottery user's group (HUG) after 4 classes taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £10 Full bag - £14 - £20 Purchase any clay but Crank or Raku IN THE INTEREST OF CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING An apron, a large sponge, small towel, microfibre cloth and old pillow sized cloth, a 2 litre tub and 10 litre bucket I am really looking meeting you and teaching you ceramics in this new pottery studio. * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 5% transaction fee charged by Wix. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment, provided that the course fees have been paid in full. Refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced.*
