Service Description

A 5 week, 2.5 hour course for students who want to learn the basics wheel throwing. Classes taught with the careful, hands-on instruction and advice.from Yvette, a university trained potter who has been teaching for 20 years. You will how to throw pots on the wheel and/or improve your skill as well as experiment with slips, underglazes and glazes. FOR THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE IN THIS STUDIO, YOU CAN GET STARTED ON DAY ONE WITH SOME SUPPORT I love to work with different colour media and surface design and expand your knowledge of these. I encourage my students to experiment and have equipped The EPS with underglazes, slips, oxides and glazes to allow for a wide range of choices for decorating your work to ensure that you succeed in this class and leave with pieces that you are proud of. COURSE PACKAGE: 2.5 Hour pottery class Demonstrations and instruction from an established ceramic artist Access to expert advice via Wix or Facebook Slips, underglazes, glazes and stoneware firing included Space in the studio to leave your clay for the next week Opportunity to join The EPS Hands on Clay, user's group (HUG) after 4 courses taken in the studio Clay is to be purchased separately on this website before class begins 5 or 6 week term: 1/2 bag of clay - £7 - £10 8 or 10 week term: Full bag - £14 - £20 Purchase any clay BUT Crank or Raku- Cream or White clays for a cooler finish and brighter glazes, Grey/buff clay IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS, PLEASE BRING An apron, 10 litre bucket, Large sponge, small towel and pillowsized cloth and a large 1kg yoghurt tub or 2 litre paint bucket I really enjoy teaching ceramics and would love you join me in this new pottery studio * As long as you withdraw two weeks before teaching begins, refunds accepted, minus 10% transaction fee. After this period, all tuition fees are non-refundable If you cannot complete a short course because of illness, you will be able to retake the course without further payment provided that the course fees have been paid in full. Refunds are not available once a period of study has commenced.*
